Things to do

We extend a very warm welcome to all visitors to our harbour. There’s plenty to do and see, and a few suggestions are listed below. A leisurely stroll will reveal beautiful scenery and sea views plus a close look at a busy fishing port. A walk from the lighthouse, round to the other side of the harbour mouth, and back to the jetty is almost a mile.

Please remember that this is very much a working harbour, so there will be vehicle movement and gear to be avoided. Seagulls are lovely, but they can sometimes be aggressive. So please never feed the seagulls, and keep a careful watch on your ice creams!  Remember to check our events page too.

Quayside fun

There’s always a lovely atmosphere in the harbour on a daily basis. Come down, have a walk around and take in the views. Enjoy an ice cream or pasty and maybe even have a go at some crabbing on the quayside. Dogs must be kept on leads and any mess must be cleaned up. The Harbour is both steeped in history and is a modern thriving commercial fishing port. It really is a beautiful must see destination.

Aquarium

This attraction is a charity project which is raising awareness and bridging the gap between the fishing industry and the general public. On your tour, you’ll see various local species and appreciate the diversity of local marine wildlife. Money collected from the Mevagissey Aquarium initiative is put towards the maintenance of Mevagissey Harbour. Entry is FREE but a donation is appreciated.
